Host a Birthday Party or Special Event at Good Reception Ranch

Create an unforgettable event for a special person in your life by hosting a celebration at Good Reception Ranch. We harness the power of the horses to capture people’s attention, open their hearts, make connections and have a good time.

Our 3-hour birthday parties can include:

  • Ice breakers and intro to connecting safely with horses
  • Meet and greet our herd at liberty
  • Game to build confidence and trust (for instance, a blindfolded trust walk with a horse and a guide)
  • Grooming
  • Bareback ride (fun and relaxing — great for the most enthusiastic or timid of riders!)
  • Fun ceremony for the person of honor
  • Horse-themed art work to take home
  • Bring a cake or treats and celebrate your birthday in our lounge or outdoor picnic area at the end of your time (you are welcome to stay after)

$350 for a 3-hour event for up to 10 participants. Each additional participant is $25 — up to 12 people. (Caregivers are welcome to observe and to help out with children’s parties.) Smaller group sizes allow each participant to have individualized attention from our skilled staff and to get lots of hands on time with our horses.

If you would like to hold an event for a larger group, please contact us to talk about other options. Or give us a call or send and email to talk about anything else you have in mind–parties for adults and families, school outings, events for home schoolers….

“My son attends a mixed-age, dual-language school and after a few months of school I started worrying that he wasn’t making friends. We invited a group of his classmates to Good Reception Ranch for a special outing in honor of his birthday. The kids had a great time and really connected in a new way. They loved riding the horses bareback and getting to partner up to groom the horses. Liz made sure everyone felt safe and had a good time. After our visit to the ranch, I noticed my son’s friendships started to blossom at school. This past week he came home from school and for the first time talked about his friends with a big smile! Thanks for making a really special day for him and his buddies.”
